Would it be possible to ‘undock’ the comments pane, or the list of Variants on the right-hand side (or even the left-most, or centre panel)? It could be a function to ‘open in new browser tab/window’, which you could then display full-screen, even detach the tab from the browser and display it on another screen. It might make it easier to navigate a long discussion thread. Although you might loose the link between the document location and the discussion. I guess it would require some UI development to get it right.
